One of the comments that stuck with me from this mornings #IMMOOC Session 2 was the notion that leader’s go first! As a teacher I am always looking for, creating and reading about different ways other colleagues have approached different learning outcomes (with and without the use of digital technologies) to enhance learning and engagement. Many of the things I have tried and implemented in my classroom; other colleagues have asked me to model using in their classrooms with their students.

Our sole purpose as teachers is to educate, guide, facilitate, inspire and question the young minds of our students as we endeavour to prepare them for a world we have not yet experienced or imagined. It is a complex process that is forever evolving – no day, month or year is exactly the same. It is with this understanding (and acceptance of it), that we need to look for ways to change what we are doing in the classroom and the way we go about doing it. Not for changes sake but to ensure that we are improving the educational outcomes for the students we are teaching, improving our practice and helping to change the culture of the school.
