The world we live in today is vastly different to the world we as educators experienced when we were growing up. Many students in today's classrooms have access to and experience using different technological devices that have the capacity to connect them to others locally, nationally and globally. There is a plethora of real-world and virtual experiences out there to helps students connect what they know and are learning to real problems, scenarios, situations etc.
How often do we capitalise on the opportunities to connect learning with real-world situations?

So why then don’t we differentiate the professional development opportunities afforded to teachers like we differentiate in the classroom?
One of the comments that stuck with me from this mornings #IMMOOC Session 2 was the notion that leader’s go first! As a teacher I am always looking for, creating and reading about different ways other colleagues have approached different learning outcomes (with and without the use of digital technologies) to enhance learning and engagement. Many of the things I have tried and implemented in my classroom; other colleagues have asked me to model using in their classrooms with their students.
