This unit focuses on how solids and liquids change state when heated and cooled. Students will investigate the impacts of heating and cooling on different states of matter. They will undertake a case study of the Snowy Hydro Electric Scheme to explore how melting snow and water is being harnessed to provide hydro-electric power.
This unit of work covers NSW Science & Technology outcomes: ST2-1WS-S Working Scientifically questions, plans and conducts scientific investigations, collects and summarises data and communicates using scientific representations ST2-6MW-S Material World describes how adding or removing heat causes a change of state |
